Bringing the Unreal to life
During this class students will get to experience the environment pipeline of environment creation from start to finish.This course will go over the process of creating an environment from concept to bringing an idea to life using industry standard tools and techniques. Students will have a better understanding of how to use their creativity to make something of their own and how to push a piece to a further benchmark. The goal of the class will be to create several high-quality assets that will come together to create one cohesive scene that is well presented.
*Students will need to have a basic understanding of modeling and texturing techniques as well as experience using Unreal Engine 4. They should be familiar with the UI of the softwares and how to navigate through them. Basic knowledge of fundamentals of art such as composition, color, and shape language is encouraged.
*This course will be available in its first term at the introductory price of $899.

Peyton Varney is an Environment Texture Artist from South Alabama, currently working at Naughty Dog on The Last of Us Part 2. Previously, he worked on Marvel's Spiderman PS4 at Insomniac Games. Peyton received his BFA from Ringling College of Art and Design, and also taught prospective students 3D fundamentals and game design. He was featured as the "Rookie of the Year" for Game Development in 2018.
Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, Oscar moved to the United States to further his education in the Arts. After obtaining his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, in Game Design and Development, he started his career as an Associate Texture Artist at EA Tiburon in Orlando, FL . Shortly thereafter, he became a Character Artist. After 2 years at EA , Oscar joined the Environment Team solidifying his passion for environments. For 3 years, he developed games for major sports franchises, such as Madden NFL, NBA and NCAA . To continue to challenge himself, he moved to Redwood Shores in San Francisco to join the Battlefield Hardline team at Visceral Games as an Environmental Artist. A year later, he moved to Burbank, California to join the talented team at Insomniac Games. At Insomniac, Oscar worked along side his team to begin the incredible challenge of building Marvel's New York City from the ground up . You can see his work in the open world landmarks, boroughs and interiors throughout the award winning game. His latest work can be seen in Spider-Man: Miles Morales as Senior Environment Artist, in which he was responsible for multiple levels, interiors and exteriors. He has been at Insomniac Games for 4 years and continues to grow a thriving career.
