instructor profiles Daniel Hourigan
Daniel Hourigan has been working in visual fx and animation for over 15 years and is currently a Lead FX Artist at Method Studios in Melbourne. Over the years, Daniel has been working on film projects such as Ghost Rider 2, The Wolverine, Hunger Games, Deepwater Horizon, John Wick, Game of Thrones and most recently Tomb Raider, Aquaman, and IT Chapter 2. His main focus has been on simulating rigid bodies, fire, smoke, and water, and he has developed numerous tools to facilitate easier production of these effects inside Houdini. Daniel is also a lecturer and content creator, keen to share the knowledge he has acquired over the years with anyone who is interested in a career in visual effects.
