instructor profiles Peter Han
The unsung hero of concept artists.
Peter Han is an entertainment and concept designer who graduated from Art Center College of Design. His client list includes Sony, Konami, Cheyenne Mountain, Trion, Vivendi Universal, and many more. His titles include Warhawk, Spyro the Dragon, Stargate Worlds, Silent Hill Experience, and Defiance.
I like that the feedback session is done for students at the same time, that way we can learn from each other, not just a stand alone feedback.
I like how no matter the level of experience each student has the instructor always gave constructive criticism. They never tore anyone down.
The instructor gives a lot of good and relative advice based on his 10+ year working in the industry and freelancing. He often give real advice about how to improve yourself and what is expected in the concept art industry. He helps student with their redesign work by giving them food for thought and ideas to play off of, but at the same time will ask the student about their mindset and where they want to take the drawings
What I liked about Peter is that he always gives constructive feedback, pointing out mistakes in a way that encourages further improvement. He inspired me to continue working on my drawing skills.
One of the best teachers I had on the subject.

Peter is a great artist and a inspiration for me. Besides that, Peter is a awesome teacher too, always worried about his students.
Great teacher, instructor. Not only that, also a good mentor. Very approachable. Very easy to digest every time he gives information. Very welcoming and encouraging a very high spirit of learning. Very passionate in what he's doing, therefore spreading the passion also to students.
The way that Peter adapts to the needs of each student and manages the time spent on various subjects according to needs and not just a fixed plan is just incredible. He also shares so much about his own methodology and experiences that we gain so much invaluable insight. Not only have I 'learnt' new things, but have 'unlearnt' my bad habits that were holding me back.
Was very supportive and gave constructive feedback.
I find his passion and creativity in his teaching, infectious, and greatly promoted improvement in everyone's work.
Outstanding. I was always aware of the principles and ideas I was supposed to exercise while working on the assignments, the explanations were clear and concise, and there was an incredible amount of fast, effective communication. There were no gray areas or vague, open-ended goals or standards. These are rare qualities in my art education experience to date.
Peter was exceptionally nice to learn from. Not only did he cover the material of the class but he was also very encouraging when we were dealing with performance anxiety, the process of drawing (and sometimes failing) and very supportive overall. He felt like one of those teachers at school that make you fall in love with a subject, not because the subject is anything exceptional but because the teacher is.
Peter was a great instructor and I hope to have him again for Dynamic Sketching 2 down the road. He gave clear, precise feedback and always filled the leftover time with a demo that was extremely helpful to that week's assignment.
